Maria Hospital – 3 MW Steam Boiler (Institutional)

In March 2012, Compte-Fournier was granted a second project, a 3MW high-pressure steam boiler for the Maria hospital in Gaspésie.

The installation was completed in January 2013 and commissioned in February. The project allowed the conversion of the old oil and electrical boilers that produced the steam required for the heating and laundry of the C.S.S.S of Baie des Chaleurs.

This project has once again demonstrated the superior performance and reliability of Compte-Fournier’s equipment, undeniably becoming the new benchmark in the public system as well as the heating system conversion projects in Quebec.

Maria’s new boiler room is an architectural reference, and the high-performance boiler, combined with an economizer to maximize energy efficiency, also increases savings and optimizes the use of wood as a renewable energy.

Also accessible on the Internet, this equipment uses text messaging as a warning system to operators. The boiler has a power modulation of 10: 1, with a standby mode, which means that this equipment can meet energy needs during periods of cold weather as well as hot summer days, whereby little energy is required. Efficiency and the ability to deliver energy quickly means that back-up boilers don’t need to be used.
